Philosophy and Mission

Through an on-going process of transformation we dance the connectivity to ourself and the world, while organically moving with nature outside and in, inviting our difference and flaws to spark the embodied poetry of our being into the creation of poems in motion.

Our mission is to nurture expressivity, imagination, creativity and body awareness through an accessible movement practice and performance creation process that connects participants and audience to themselves, their environment and others in the present moment while exploring parts of unknown within, in order to reveal unique ways of moving and interacting

Our Creative Process

Landscape Under Skin Theatre: Creation of Poems in Motion

We call our performances Poems in Motion because they are more like a visual poetry in movement than choreographies in the traditional meaning of the word. They encompass a feeling of surprise and uncanniness; a sense of on-going change in meanings.

We build our Poems in Motion performances through the creation of an ever-changing Landscape Under Skin Theatre. Constructed of words, this landscape awakens in the movers an embodied memory of the world from which arise images to be lived. It opens spaces where words and images are physically experienced: transformed from qualities and sensed impressions to movement expression. We create and dance physical metaphors.

This imaginary landscape allows us to play with the concept of becoming-other: human, animal, vegetal, mineral, object... By a playful fragmentation and reorganization of our sensed experiences, we transform our way of moving. A new performing body is created: strange, poetic and constantly oscillating between known and unknown.

Through a dynamic of porosity – us moving through the world and the world moving through us – this poetic presence oscillate between humanity and all the qualities borrowed from surrounding elements. Creating from our environment makes us encompass others and therefore, embrace difference.
